Director
Stuart Mills with
co director Julie Wilson who
runs the business and helps in the workshop and with sales has
been involved in the automotive industry
since 1978. He has built
numerous vehicles
including one-offs, replicas, motorbikes, a variety of electric
cars and bikes and rebuilt several classics. He also has a number
of patents
registered to his name for some of his innovative designs, including
an amazing tilting trike. He has vast experience of using various
engineering principles and materials and has even built microlight
aircraft from carbon fibre, alloy, nylon and GRP and flown them,
including a trip from Nottinghamshire to Madrid and back, proving
his complete faith in his work.
Having assisted
Aston Martin owners with
suspension and steering set up, Stuart carried out an in depth
study into vehicle handling
characteristics which led to the development of various road/track
suspension systems. Now Stuart is using his vast experience and
knowledge to operate his own company full time, Mills
Extreme Vehicles Ltd, based in Mansfield, Notts. We have a purpose
built unit near the M1 with its own specially built test track
and off road course.
The company avoids traditional designs and only develops innovative
products specifically aimed at the specialist car market, offering
the consumer a wider choice in vehicle types. The company achieves
cost effectiveness by design in all its products. They also hire
vehicles to promotion companies including replicas of Sean
Connery’s
Aston Martin DB5 from “Goldfinger” and Peter Fonda’s
Captain America chopper from “Easy Rider”.
DESIGN
Mills Extreme Vehicles Ltd
always starts vehicle design concepts without fixed parameters.
Daring to be
different often results
in all sorts of unconventional options being considered. Most modern
cars are not a million miles away in design terms from the mode
of transport they replaced, namely the horse and cart, the power
up front, the driver behind and the passengers in the back. The
Mills Extreme Vehicles approach is to offer visually stunning bodywork
beneath which lies a precision engineered alternative to today’s
mundane vehicle offerings.
