Great fun and very fast. Will leave a twin engined Honda kart
standing. Top speed 65 mph. 19 bhp 72 volt motor.
Powered by 6 x 12 volt 50 Ah sealed lead acid cyclic batteries
(Yucel by Yuasa) Batteries available from
www.countybattery.co.uk
Range on those batteries is around 50 laps of the average kart
track. Acceleration to 50 in under 5 seconds! (depending on final
drive ratio, see "gear ratio calculator" in our download
section).
Sprockets are available from
www.eriks.co.uk and they will machine
them to size for you for a small extra fee.
Build one for around £1500. (based on an old kart thats
passed its sell by date) look for one on www.ebay.co.uk
So Visit
www.electricmotorsport.com and buy an Etek motor and
controller set and then convert an old kart. All you need to
do is mount the motor and make the battery trays, then join in
with this new form of motor sport.
